Wake Walker PR was appointed to handle the promotion, PR, comms and marketing in UK for Van Gogh Museum Editions Collection on Tour. Few individuals have the opportunity to experience Vincent van Gogh’s artwork. Van Gogh Museum offered everyone the opportunity to do that by owning a Van Gogh masterpiece with a scanned copy. The complex production process, which took 7 years to develop, brings together Fuji Japan’s three-dimensional laser scanning, digital imaging, and state-of-the-art printing technologies. Each canvas is carefully examined and juxtaposed to the original work by the museum’s curators before being authenticated as a certified and limited edition. Nine Van Gogh’s editions, which represent different milestones in Vincent’s life, have been selected and are part of a numbered series of 260.
Owning a painting by Van Gogh promises to be a transformative experience. One is instantly overwhelmed by the bold colours and rugged brushstrokes that are thickly applied to the highly textured canvas.
WWPR organised a private dinner for buyers at the luxury business 12 Hay Hill Club in Mayfair during November 2016. The club has a Michelin Restaurant with chef Saun Rankin and selected guests were invited to view the Collection. The club members had the opportunity to view the VGME over a fortnight. Wake Walker PR also organised a well-attended event at the stunning private members club the Devonshire Club, London EC2 during February 2017. Mr Willem van Gogh, direct descendant of Vincent van Gogh’s brother Theo gave a speech about his life growing up with the paintings on his grandmother’s walls. The party was attended by BBC, The Times, art press amongst other.
